What is Pressure Drop?

A Community-Powered Health Equity Project
working to detect and raise awareness about High Blood Pressure (BP) and Chronic
Kidney Disease (CKD) in Black Residents in Lewisham’s Sevenfields Primary Care
Network
and Ravensbourne Primary Care Network.

We focus on early detection of high blood pressure and chronic kidney disease, conditions that are common, often silent, and too frequently diagnosed too late.

Through culturally appropriate outreach, we aim to raise awareness, understand barriers, and address misconceptions around breast screening. Our initiative builds trust in screening services by providing expert medical advice by practicing GP, reassurance, clear information, and motivation to book appointments.

By delivering engaging roadshows, we create safe and welcoming spaces where
people can learn about breast screening, ask questions, and have open
conversations, supporting early detection and saving lives.

They say the hardest part of any journey is the first step, but in a city that never stops, the hardest part is often finding a reason to slow down.

In the heart of our borough, between the brick-lined streets and the green expanses of our parks, something special is happening. It isn’t a high-intensity boot camp or an expensive gym class. It’s the Queens Walking Club—a community movement dedicated to reclaiming our health, one block at a time.

Why We Walk

We started this club because we realised that "getting healthy" shouldn't feel like a chore or a solo mission. It should feel like a Saturday morning catch-up with an old friend.

  • Connection Over Competition: We aren't racing to a finish line. We’re walking to discover new corners of our neighbourhood and meet the people who live in them.

  • Health Made Simple: Walking is the most accessible medicine there is. It clears the mind, strengthens the heart, and boosts your energy, all without needing a membership card.

  • The Spirit of Queens: Our borough is a mosaic. When we walk together, we represent every culture, every age, and every story that makes Queens the world's borough

What to Expect

Whether you’re a power-walker or a casual stroller, there is a place for you here. Our routes are designed to be scenic, safe, and inclusive.
