Known Accessibility Issues

Based on our review, the following accessibility issues were identified. We have rated each by severity of impact on users with disabilities.

 Keyboard Navigation

Severity

Planned Fix

Skip navigation link is not present, requiring keyboard users to tab through the full navigation menu on every page

Bypass Blocks

High

Implement a 'Skip to main content' link at the top of each page

Tab navigation through the menu is facilitated by Wix but visible focus indicators may not be sufficiently prominent on all interactive elements

Focus Visible

Medium

Ensure all interactive elements have a clearly visible focus state with sufficient contrast

Colour Contrast

Issue

WCAG Criterion

Severity

Planned Fix

Some text elements on the site may not meet the minimum contrast ratio against their background, particularly light text on coloured sections

Contrast (Minimum)

Audit all text/background colour combinations and adjust to meet WCAG AA contrast ratios

WCAG Criterion

Severity

Planned Fix

The contact form fields (First name, Last name, Email, Message) may not have programmatically associated labels visible to screen readers

Info and Relationships, Labels or Instructions

WCAG Criterion

Severity

Planned Fix

Heading hierarchy across pages is not always consistent; some sections use heading levels that may skip levels

 Info and Relationships

Low

Review and restructure headings to follow a logical order (H1 > H2 > H3) on all pages

Event listing page does not appear to have ARIA landmark regions to help screen reader users navigate directly to key areas

Identify Purpose (AAA — advisory), Bypass Blocks

Low

Add appropriate ARIA landmark roles (main, navigation, footer) where not already present

What We Are Doing About These Issues
  • We are working to resolve the issues identified above. Our planned actions are:

  • Update all page titles from the default 'Quick Setup' to meaningful, descriptive names within the Wix dashboard

  • Add descriptive alt text to all informative images, including the logo, team photos, and programme images

  • Complete and publish the Privacy Policy, Accessibility Statement, and Terms & Conditions pages currently showing as placeholders

  • Add a confirmed telephone number to the footer

  • Review and improve colour contrast across the site

  • Work with Wix's accessibility tools and documentation to improve form labelling, skip navigation, and focus management where the platform permits

  • Conduct a further formal accessibility audit once remediation work is complete

  • Some issues are dependent on the Wix platform's own accessibility roadmap. We will monitor Wix's updates and apply improvements as they become available.

Declaration of partial compliance with the standard due to third-party content [only add if relevant]

This website is partially compliant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. The non-compliances and exemptions are listed in Section 3 below.

The website is built on the Wix.com platform. Some accessibility barriers arise from Wix platform limitations that are outside the direct control of Diversity Health and Wellbeing CIC. Where issues are within our control, we are committed to resolving them.
